There are many reasons for hair loss. It could be due to short hair shafts, hormonal changes, scalp irritation and more. Hair also goes through a growth cycle and rest periods but this varies from person to person. People usually shed 50 to 100 hair strands a day. Now, with million strands of hair in the scalp, you will not be able to notice this amount of hair loss. Once the rate of shedding exceeds this rate, then it will lead to baldness.
Here are the three important causes of hair loss:
  1. Hormonal changes - Hormonal imbalances can initiate temporary hair loss. Hormonal imbalances could be due to onset of menopause, overactive thyroid, birth control pills, childbirth or pregnancy. During pregnancy a woman may experience a thicker growth of hair, however, after delivery; there will be too much hair loss which could last for three months. If the hormonal imbalance is due to testosterone overproduction, there will be some hair thinning.
  2. Styling And Treatments - Products used for hair treatments usually contain chemicals that can harm the hair. These chemicals are used for straightening, tinting, bleaching and dying and they can damage and break off hair, especially when they are used too much. Too much brushing and styling can make hair fall out due to hair shaft damage and weakening.
  3. Scalp Infection - Infections can also happen to scalp. Ringworm can infest the skin of the scalp which leads to hair loss. However, you do not have to worry because if it is treated properly, hair will grow back normally.
The first and the third problem can be treated by the doctor. The second cause can be rectified by you. Choose good quality styling products. Regular hot oil treatment, conditioning and application of protein packs will correct any damage done to your hair due to excessive use of styling products.
But after this you really need some information that will speed up your hair growth. There are many cosmetic hair growth products as well as medicines. But the problem is if you stop using them the hair growth also stops. What you really need is an easy to follow natural treatment.
Life is hectic. Nobody has the time or the money to spend on costly treatments, products or procedures. So what do you do? Well, if you are like me, you should go the natural way. Try scalp massaging, healthy diet, stress reduction and herbs and oils that really give amazing result so far as healthy hair growth is concerned.
