The almond tree is a native tree originating from Asia and the Middle East. The process of making sweet almond oil involves the pressing of the dried kernels, which results in a pale yellow oil. Almonds are used for the extraction of oil because they have a high oil content of 54%, and this oil content possesses a wide range of medicinal qualities. The use of almond oil for treating hair loss and promoting hair growth has a deep and rich history as a time honored natural remedy. The first evidence of this comes from ancient Egyptian times. They were always obsessed with ones physical appearance and reaped the benefits of this natural remedy for many centuries.
Moisturizer
Almond oil contains amazing moisturizing properties because of its high content of fatty acids. By maintaining moisture in the hair this will help prevent hair from drying out, becoming weak and prone to breakage. These fatty acids also keep hair nourished, which makes it more pliable and easier to manage.
Healthy Scalp
This nutty oil is also crucial to the overall health of the scalp;one of the reasons behind this is that it offers thermal protection acting as a barrier against blow-drying and straightening irons. This natural oil also reduces inflammation making it an effective remedy for treating scalp infections and skin conditions such as dandruff. Because of the emollient properties of almond oil it also helps to soften the skin making the removal of dead skin a lot easier. This in turn ensures hair follicles remain unblocked allowing the hair to grow.
Cleansing Agent
Almond oil has proven to be an extremely effective cleansing agent; it helps to remove the impurities and pollutants that have entered into the hair follicles. When applied a few hours prior to showering, the sticky fats within the oil help to absorb dirt and impurities. Then when the hair is eventually washed the oil and dirt buildup is removed leaving both the hair and scalp fully cleansed.
Hair Loss And Growth
Almond oil is what they call a "carrier oil," and when mixed with another essential oil, such as castor or sandalwood oil its effectiveness increases and it can help to promote hair growth and prevent hair loss.
The single most important factor for healthy hair and promoting hair growth is the level of protein in the hair. Protein is the primary component that strengthens the hair, almond oil is a great source of protein and for this reason it is commonly used in hair loss and hair growth treatments.
Almond oil is a rich source of nutrients such as vitamin E (one of the most important vitamins for hair growth ) and essential fatty acids, which ultimately help to nourish, moisturize and strengthen the hair. All of which are extremely important for preventing hair breakage and hair loss resulting in the promotion of healthy hair growth.
